Download the Dojo Code to learn about martial etiquette: how to show respect, why we bow, what to wear to class, and more.
-
All new students must fill in a registration form before taking their first class. This applies to both in-person and Zoom classes. A parent or guardian signature is required on the registration form for those under 18 years old.
-
In-person class bookings can be rescheduled up to 24 hours before the beginning of class. Use the link in your booking confirmation email to reschedule. If you cannot locate the email, please contact secretary@charlottesvilletaichi.org for assistance.
If you paid for the class using a discount package, canceling the class will free up a class in your package, which you can reschedule at any point before the package expires.
If there are less than 24 hours before your class begins, your in-person class cannot be rescheduled. This is to allow other students access to limited space in in-person classes.
An exception will be made if you have just tested COVID+, in which case please stay home and contact secretary@charlottesvilletaichi.org for help with scheduling a makeup class.
-
If you take a particular Zoom class regularly, feel free to email your instructor to let them know when you can’t make it to class. This helps instructors plan.

When Cville City Schools delay opening by two hours, CTCC cancels morning in-person and Zoom classes. When Cville City Schools cancel classes, all CTCC in-person and Zoom classes are canceled for the day. On Saturdays and other days when Cville City Schools are not in session, closure information will appear in the Announcement Bar on the CTCC homepage.
-
CTCC does not handle cash transactions. Class fees can be paid online with PayPal or by check. If you plan to pay by check, please contact secretary@charlottesvilletaichi.org for assistance with registering for classes. Physical items for sale at the dojo can be paid for in the online CTCC shop and picked up at the dojo.
-
In-person and Zoom class fees are non-refundable. If you can’t make it to an in-person class you previously booked, please follow the rescheduling instructions in your confirmation email to book a new class and free up the original spot for someone else. Class bookings may be rescheduled up to 24 hours before the class begins.
If you paid for the in-person class using an 8-class package code, canceling the class will free up a class in your package, which you can reschedule at any point before the package expires.
COVID exception: If you cannot attend an in-person class you booked due to a COVID diagnosis within 24 hours of the beginning of class, please stay home and contact secretary@charlottesvilletaichi.org for assistance with rescheduling.
-
If CTCC cancels an in-person class, you may reschedule using the link in the confirmation email you received at purchase. Please contact registrar@charlottesvilletaichi.org if it is too late to reschedule through the online automated system and you need assistance.
PAYMENT & REFUND POLICIES

As a nonprofit, CTCC’s mission has always been to serve the wider community, which includes using public health tools to protect one another. If you are experiencing symptoms such as cough, fever, sore throat, shortness of breath, headache, or runny nose, please stay home and inform your instructor.
Masks are not required for students or instructors during in-person classes and other dojo events that take place inside. If you prefer to mask, you are, of course, welcome to do so. Instructors will also mask upon student request. If you have recently been in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID, a KN-95 or KF-94 mask is required inside the dojo.
There are 4 HEPA-filtered air purifiers in the main dojo space and the air quality is monitored. In-person classes are generally capped at 8 students plus 1 instructor to allow for safer spacing.
We will continue to review these safety policies as necessary to protect the community.
