Xing Yi (Hsing-I) is the second of the three internal martial arts taught in the Cheng Ming system. Its movements are faster, more linear, and crisper than those of Taij. Like Taiji, Xing Yi has self-defense applications as well as health benefits. Practitioners improve their cardiovascular and overall fitness while developing confidence and discipline. Xing Yi includes empty hand forms, such as Five Elements and Animal forms, as well as training with short stick, sword, saber, staff, and spear.
